Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking an Electronics Technician to test and inspect precision electronic and mechanical devices used in locomotive electronics. You will work with cab control and signaling equipment, using bench-level test equipment and board-level troubleshooting to ensure quality.

The role offers morning schedules and on-site work in Kansas City. Preferred candidates have an Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent military certification, plus 3+ years of bench technician

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate's degree in electronic technology or equivalent military certification/work experience in electronics repair.
• +3 years bench technician experience
• Experience reading schematics and using common test equipment
• Knowledge of IPC/ESD requirements
• Experience in stand-alone testing of electronic boards

Responsibilities

• Perform functional tests on products at sub-assembly and final assembly level.
• Troubleshoot and repair failed products to the board level.
• Identify root causes and implement preventative actions.
• Follow IPC and ESD processes for board-level rework.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment and meet safety PPE requirements.
