Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic mechanics.

• One year in diesel engine or electrical repairs.
• Attention to detail.
• Able to schedule work.
• Solid problem solving skills.
• Good oral communication abilities.
• Able to use all related mechanical and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for timely and effective maintenance procedures.
• Fuel, sand, and daily inspections of locomotives.
• Performs preventive maintenance according to established schedules; oils, fills tanks, and adjusts equipment.
• Complete basic repairs on equipment and machines; troubleshoot diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Field service work; travels to locations in and around Houston, TX to perform maintenance.
• Maintains maintenance logs and completes work orders.
• Communicates with area personnel and ensures work is completed safely and efficiently.
