Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Department of Anthropology is seeking a full-time Research Technologist to join a locomotion biomechanics laboratory on the University Park campus. The role involves managing lab equipment, assisting with human subject data collection, and developing data analysis code.

You will train undergraduate and graduate researchers, help prepare human subject protocols, manuscripts, and grant proposals, and contribute to the lab’s research on musculoskeletal biology.

Qualifications

• Biomechanics coursework or experience preferred.
• Coding experience for data analysis is preferred.
• Laboratory techniques and safety practices are important.

Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory equipment, supplies, software, databases and paperwork.
• Assist with experimental data collection from human subjects and cadaveric specimens.
• Analyze biomechanical and anatomical data and write data analysis code.
• Train undergraduate and graduate student researchers in lab techniques.
• Assist with writing human subject protocols, manuscripts and grant proposals.
