Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University in State College invites applications for a tenure-line Associate or Full Professor position in Biomechanics and Biorobotics. The successful candidate will also serve as Director of the Center for Movement Science and Technology (C-MOST) within the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences.

The role offers a strategic leadership path to shape the future of motion science, develop C-MOST, and build a broader Biorobotics Research Cluster across Penn State's colleges

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in biomechanics, kinesiology, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, robotics, neuroscience, medicine, or related discipline.
  • Outstanding record of research excellence and scholarly productivity.
  • Sustained record of peer‑reviewed extramural funding and leadership in interdisciplinary research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and advance a compelling vision for C-MOST and create new opportunities for collaboration among researchers, clinicians, and external partners.
  • Lead the continued development of C-MOST and establish a broader Biorobotics Research Cluster across Penn State.
  • Build interdisciplinary research programs at the interface of movement, biology, engineering, and robotics; engage in education and mentorship.
