Job summary

University of Toledo is seeking a Locksmith 1 for the Health Science Campus. This role installs, repairs, rebuilds, and services mechanical locking devices, disassembles door locks, and pins cores under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., Works well with hands, and can work with close tolerance.
• Must possess verbal communication skills necessary to provide excellent customer service.
• Must possess valid driver’s license and insurability under UT driving policies required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, rebuilds, and services mechanical locking devices using hand tools and special equipment.
• Disassembles door locks and repairs or replaces worn parts.
• Pins new or existing cores under supervision of Locksmith Journeyman.
• Cuts new or duplicate keys using key cutting machine and opens locks by drilling when necessary.
• Assists with records of locks and keys and meets work schedules and service requests.
