Job Description: Locksmith 1 installs, repairs, rebuilds, and services mechanicallocking devices, using hand tools and special equipment.Disassembles door locks and repairs or replaces worn parts. Able topin new or existing cores under the direction of the LocksmithJourneyman. Cut new or duplicate keys using key cutting machine.Opens locks by drilling when necessary. Assists with records oflocks and keys. The incumbent is responsible for meeting workschedules and service requests, by providing effective andefficient maintenance workmanship and leadership.This position works under general supervision of the appropriatejourneyman and/or the Manager of Structural Maintenance to performskilled maintenance work.
