Job summary

Mid-Del Schools is seeking an apprentice for Locks and Doors in the Maintenance department. The position involves operating woodworking machinery, assisting with door and window installations, and supporting various construction tasks across district facilities.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, clear background checks, and an Oklahoma driver’s license with a clean record. The role is safety-sensitive and non-exempt under district policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must clear all criminal and vehicular background checks.
• Must possess Oklahoma motor vehicle license and have a clean driving record.
• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines (power saws, jointers, radial arm saws, drill presses, band saws) as part of daily tasks.
• Assist in installing glass in windows/doors and partitions as needed.
• Assist in replacing/insulating building materials in framework, roofs, and ceiling or wall coverings.
• Maintain key control system (KC 2000) and coordinate key coding for new projects.
• Develop knowledge of vendors, purchase orders, work orders, and call-in work requests.
• Work with Director/Supervisor/Foreman on budget, maintenance, and installations for projects.
• Support confined spaces program and lock/door system maintenance district-wide.
