Midwest City - Del City School District is seeking an Apprentice – Locks & Doors to join the Maintenance department in Oklahoma City, OK. The role involves hands-on installation and service of locking devices, key control, and coordination with the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must clear all necessary criminal and vehicular background checks.
• Must possess and maintain a current Oklahoma license for motor vehicles. Employee must also have a clean driving record.
• Must maintain confidential information of a sensitive nature.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate woodworking machines (saws, jointers, drills, band saws) and assist in installing glass and insulation materials.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights up to 110 feet in aerial bucket ladder or cat walk.
• Communicate effectively with principals, teachers, food service personnel, custodians, and students; work as part of a maintenance team.
• Learn to operate word processors, spreadsheets, and Access Control Systems; collaborate with supervisors on budgeting and maintenance projects.
• Maintain and manage the district’s keying system and security key codes across sites.
• Assist in planning, designing, and installation of new construction and remodel projects.
• Maintain key control processes and coordinate with site Key Controllers.
• Possess knowledge of lock installation, repair, and key cutting; maintain records of keys issued.
• Follow vendor quotes and assemble quotes for administrators.
• Additional duties as assigned.
