Job summary

Zūm Services, Inc. in Oakland, CA seeks an experienced Location Manager to lead transportation operations from bid development through startup and daily management.

You will build high‑performing teams, own P&L, ensure safety, and drive continuous improvement across routes, fleet maintenance, and school district partnerships.

The role requires a proven leader able to manage complex schedules, budgets, and stakeholder relations while delivering reliable, compliant mobility services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing day-to-day operations in time-sensitive environments such as transportation, field services, logistics, hospitality, or similar industries.
• Experience managing full profit and loss (P&L) accountability with operational oversight and KPI responsibility.
• Experience maintaining client-facing relationships and coordinating across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead site start-ups for newly awarded contracts, team hiring, facility setup, IT implementation.
• Develop training and hiring programs for location that meet state, federal, and district guidelines.
• Develop and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships, exceeding expectations through proactive communication and service delivery.
• Manage assigned contract operations, ensuring consistency and excellence.
• Oversee Safety Department compliance with regulations and comprehensive record keeping.
• Plan, execute, and complete school bus electrification projects on time and within budget.
