Qualifications

• State licensure as a Funeral Director is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a licensed Funeral Director with leadership experience.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage daily operations, prioritize competing needs, and problem-solve effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Financial acumen including budgeting, cost control, and operational analysis.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must maintain insurability under company vehicle use policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of a funeral home location.
• Deliver compassionate, personalized service to families.
• Manage and mentor all location staff.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
• Serve as primary contact for regional leadership.
• Provide coaching and development for staff.
• Interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and development planning for location staff.
• Execute corporate and regional initiatives within the funeral home.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and family experience.
• Collaborate with regional and corporate teams to align with goals.
• Support change management related to systems and processes.
• Serve as ambassador of Heritage Family’s mission and values.
• Build relationships in the community through events and associations.
• Promote Heritage Family’s reputation for exceptional care.
• Manage financial performance, budgets, labor costs, AR, merchandise sales.
• Support revenue growth through pre-need referrals and memorial offerings.
