Job summary

Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. seeks a Controller to oversee all accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and compliance in a growing manufacturing and distribution business.

This highly visible leadership role combines strategic financial oversight with hands-on execution, requiring collaboration with senior leadership to drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accurate reporting and ERP system

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Controller/Assistant Controller/Finance Director experience.
  • Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or consumer products experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations is desirable.
  • Strong GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls knowledge.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and finance activities for the business.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process with timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analyses, forecasts, and executive reporting packages.
  • Partner with business leadership to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance with policies.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and cost analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controls.
