Job summary

SRM Concrete seeks a safety-focused Tanker Operator to transport cement from supply terminals to our concrete plants. You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries while upholding SRM’s standards.

You must have a valid Class A CDL (tanker endorsement helpful), DOT Medical Card, and at least 2 years of tanker experience. A clean driving record and strong knowledge of DOT regulations are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL; Tanker Endorsement is helpful but not required.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience driving Class A tanker trucks.
• Clean driving record with no serious tickets or accidents in the last 5 years.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for material transport.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform bending, lifting, and climbing.
• Excellent time management to meet delivery schedules.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and customers.
• Willingness to undergo SRM’s pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A tanker truck, transporting cement from terminals to SRM plant locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Complete and maintain logbooks and delivery paperwork per company policies and DOT regulations.
• Communicate with dispatch for delivery instructions and route updates.
• Ensure secure loading and unloading of cement with no spills or contamination.
• Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures.
• Provide professional customer service at delivery sites representing SRM.
• Promptly report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations.
• Stay current on safety regulations and company policies.
