Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. in Illinois is seeking a Route Driver to represent the company while making deliveries and pickups and maintaining professional standards on every run. The full-time Route Driver will load and unload freight, inspect equipment, and ensure accurate shipping paperwork.

You will interact with customers, handle payments for select packages, and keep the vehicle clean and organized. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age (implicit minimum)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers in a timely manner
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle
• Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle
• Perform other related duties as assigned
