Job summary

GCC is seeking a Local Ready Mix Driver in Las Cruces, NM. The driver will operate a concrete mixer truck to deliver concrete to various job sites, maintain safety standards, and manage routine truck maintenance and wash-downs. A sign-on bonus is offered for qualified applicants.

Candidates must have a valid CDL Class A or B license, pass a DOT drug screen and physical, and meet DOT and company policy requirements. Strong customer service and English literacy are essential for this role.

Qualifications

CDL REQUIRED CLASS A OR B SIGN ON BONUS!

What you will do:

Drives truck equipped with aconcrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites.

• Safely drives truck to jobsite and arrives with the desired slump within customer or jobspecifications.
• Fills water tank before each delivery by placing rubber hose into the water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
• Pursuant to customer needs, driver will place chutes from fender or hanging rack onto themain chute at the rear of truck for discharge.
• Upon completion of each shift, driver will wash truck with a hose and brush, including the useof acidic solution when necessary.
• Ready-mix driver is responsible to call callout each day for start time.

Experience and abilities you will need:

CDL Class A or B Required

• High school diploma (minimum); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
• Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations andmeet company policy requirements.
• Ability to handle cash and make change.
• Ability to deal with customers and other employees in a diplomatic manner, in a variety ofstressful situations.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Maintain Department of Transportation Health cond.
• Average Work Hours: 10 hours/day, 4 - 6 days/week
• Lifting 50lbs. frequently
• Extremes temperatures (C or H)
