Job summary

GCC is seeking a CDL Class A or B licensed truck driver to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites. The role requires pre-trip inspections, safe maneuvering on varied ground, and precise loading with admixtures. Daily communication and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Responsibilities

• Charge mixer and receive concrete, including admixtures on ticket.
• Maneuver truck on unstable ground at jobsites.
• Place chutes for discharge as needed.
• Callout daily for start time.

CDL Class A or B Required - Sign On Bonus!

What you will do:

Drives truck equipped with aconcrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites.

• Safely drives ready-mix truck to jobsite and arrives with the desired slump within customer or job specifications.
• Pre-trip inspection of ready-mix truck pursuant to D.O.T. regulations.
• Upon receiving the delivery ticket, driver pulls the truck under or backs truck under the plant (depending on plant configuration) and charges mixer to receive concrete, making sure totake any admixtures or other ancillary products that are on ticket.
• Upon arriving on jobsite, the driver must be able to safely maneuver truck in often veryunstable ground conditions.
• Pursuant to customer needs, driver will place chutes from fender or hanging rack onto themain chute at the rear of truck for discharge.
• Ready-mix driver is responsible to call callout each day for start time.

Experience and abilities you will need:

CDL Class A or B Required

High school diploma (minimum); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
• Maintain driving record in accordance with Federal and State Motor Carrier regulations andmeet company policy requirements.
• Ability to handle cash and make change.
• Ability to deal with customers and other employees in a diplomatic manner, in a variety ofstressful situations.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Maintain Department of Transportation Health cond.
• Average Work Hours: 10 hours/day, 4 - 6 days/week
• Lifting 50lbs. frequently
• Extremes temperatures (C or H)
