Job summary

GCC is a world‑class producer of cement, ready‑mixed concrete, aggregates and related products in the United States and Mexico. This position supports QC testing and materials verification at our El Paso facility, with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and efficient turnaround.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; tech school preferred.
• Must have a college degree or be working toward one.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to use a scientific calculator.
• Valid driver's license.
• ACI Field and State Plant and Field certifications or willingness to attain after hire.
• Able to lift 100 lbs and climb ready-mix trucks.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate production and testing equipment.
• Sample and test raw materials for specification compliance.
• Perform QC tests for entrained air content, slump/workability, yield, and more.
• Record and report test results to dispatch, batch personnel and customers.
• Use test results to make mix adjustments.
• Troubleshoot fresh and hardened concrete problems.
• Conduct periodic informative programs for drivers and batch personnel.
• Comply with the job description addendum.

What you will do:

• Calibrate production and testing equipment.


• Sample and test raw materials for specification compliance.


• Perform QC tests for: entrained air content, slump/workability, coarseness/sandiness, yield, setting time, water-cement ratio and strength.


• Record and report test results to dispatch, batch personnel and the customer.


• Use test results to make mix adjustments.


• Troubleshoot fresh/hardened concrete problems.


• Conduct periodic informative programs for drivers, batch personnel, etc.


• Compliance with job description addendum.

Experience and abilities you will need:

• High school diploma or GED,Tech school graduate preferred.


• Must have a college degree or work towards one.


• Good oral/written communications skills.


• Ability to use a scientific calculator.


• Capable of making quick and responsible decisions in a fast‑paced environment.


• Valid driver's license.


• ACI Field and State Plant and Field certifications or willing to attain after hired.


• Able to lift 100 lbs. and climb up and down the ready‑mix trucks.
