Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a safety-conscious CDL-A driver to operate tractor-trailers across diverse routes, adhering to FMCSA regulations and maintaining complete safety records.

The role requires HazMat/Tanker endorsements, 75-mile residency, and ability to perform pre/post-trip inspections, with occasional over-the-road assignments based on business needs. Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• 21 years of age per FMCSA regulations; 1 year driving experience required.
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center/work assignment
• HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required
• Must drive tractor trailer per FMCSA requirements
• Stable employment history preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift (7500 lb)
• Push/pull loaded pallet jack or hand truck (70 lbs)
• Physical activities include standing, lifting, twisting, climbing a ladder
• Capable of dropping/hooking and coupling trailers with 65 lbs pressure
• Must provide acceptable MVR
• Familiar with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules
• Must pass FMCSA medical exam and road test
• Must speak/read English
• Lift ~70 lbs or more as needed
• Drive all routes in diverse terrain and weather
• Operate safety and operational functions of equipment
• Comply with company policies, work with others or independently
• Capable of working under tight deadlines and high volume
• Pass pre-employment drug screen; random drug/alcohol tests; background check
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of equipment and safety functions.
• Drive tractor/trailer in freight transportation complying with FMCSA rules.
• Maintain required records and safety compliance.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report maintenance needs promptly.
• Use in-cab technology as required.
• Occasionally run over-the-road per business needs.
• Assist with dock loading/unloading as needed.
• Provide professional service to customers and the public.
• Attend as required and perform other duties as assigned.
