Job summary

The Driving Desk is hiring experienced Class A CDL Drivers for a local intermodal position serving Inland Empire and Southern California. You will move intermodal containers between rail yards, distribution centers, and customer locations with daily home time and a strong benefits package.

Earners can expect weekly pay around $1,500–$1,600+ with additional incentive opportunities, including mileage pay and various shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience
• Must live within the approved hiring area
• Ability to pass DOT drug screening, background check, and MVR
• Comfortable operating in rail-yard and intermodal environments
• Ability to safely navigate Southern California traffic
• Strong commitment to safety and customer service

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle
• Transport loaded and empty intermodal containers
• Pick up and deliver containers between rail ramps, customer facilities, and distribution centers
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Inspect chassis, containers, tires, lights, and securement equipment
• Complete electronic logs and DOT paperwork
• Communicate with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries
• Follow all rail-yard and terminal safety procedures
