Job summary

J&D Traffic Solutions, Inc. is seeking flaggers to join our outdoor team in the King George, VA area. You’ll work under the Traffic Control Manager to ensure safe traffic flow around work zones while delivering strong customer service to clients.

Qualified candidates will have VDOT Intermediate / Traffic Flaggers certifications or general labor experience; training is available for the right person. Work includes setting up signs, cones, and barriers, with duties varying by assignment.

Qualifications

Must be 18 yrs. or older.
Must be reliable and on time.
Good attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Physically Fit – should be able to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to stand, lift, stoop, bend over, grasp for long periods of time.
Reliable Transportation
Drug Free always (subject to pre-hire and random drug testing)
Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License, clean driving record if offered a driving position.
Must have a valid state ID if you don’t have a driver's license.

Responsibilities

Establish safe movement of traffic around work zones, in accordance with safety regulations and/or Department of Transportation regulations.
Place signs, barricades, traffic cones, and other warning devices as needed.
Flag motorists to warn them of obstacles or repair work ahead; pass vehicles safely.
Take ownership of the work zone and oversee operations.
Duties will vary according to job assignment.
General laborer duties include traffic control, pavement markings, installing signs, wheel stops, and more.
