Job summary

GovFirst is seeking dependable Traffic Control Flaggers to support roadway construction, maintenance, and traffic control operations throughout Northern and Southern Virginia. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

The successful candidate will direct traffic, use paddles and signs, set up and maintain work zone devices, and communicate effectively with the team while following safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in flagging or traffic control preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors.
• Strong communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to work at multiple project locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through construction and maintenance work zones.
• Use STOP/SLOW paddles, flags, and other approved devices to guide motorists.
• Set up, position, maintain, and remove traffic control signs, cones, barricades, and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, equipment operators, and crew members.
• Monitor traffic conditions and identify potential safety hazards within work zones.
• Follow established traffic control plans and supervisor instructions.
