Job summary

Mesilla Valley Transportation in Hutchins, TX is hiring a Local Dispatcher responsible for planning local pickups and deliveries for our drivers and coordinating with the Customer Service Team to resolve delays.

Shifts run Sunday–Tuesday 5:30pm–5:30am and Wednesday 5:30pm–12am; full-time benefits include 401(k), health/dental/life insurance, vision, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in logistics or dispatch.
• Moderate knowledge of motor carrier operations and geography.
• Proficient with standard office software and communication tools.

Responsibilities

• Plans pick up and deliveries for local drivers.
• Monitors drivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
• Communicates with Customer Service on delays or issues.
• Provides input on available capacity to authorize T-calls.
• Forecasts challenges for the next day and informs the second shift.

The Local Dispatcher is responsible for assisting Local P&D to efficiently and effectively support drivers of our fast-paced organization.

Schedule:

Sunday-Tuesday 5:30pm-5:30am; Wednesday 5:30pm-12am(midnight)

Responsibilities:

• Plans pick up and deliveries for local drivers.
• Monitors drivers to ensure pick-up and deliveries are done on time.
• Communicates with Customer Service Team on any delays or issues.
• Provides input on available capacity to authorize T-calls.
• Forecasts upcoming challenges for the next day and advises second shift of pending issues.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in logistics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Moderate knowledge of motor carrier operations and geography preferred.
