Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines in Pasco, WA, is seeking a CDL Class A Truck Driver for local pick-up and delivery. This Day Shift / Monday–Friday position offers Home Daily and the opportunity to join a legacy with over a century of regional service.

You will operate equipment safely, maintain accurate delivery paperwork, and provide excellent customer service across Oak Harbor’s network. Requirements include 1 year of verifiable driving, a valid DOT medical, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Hold a valid Class A CDL.
• Have at least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Clean driving record with no DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the last 3 years.
• Basic English proficiency in reading, writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and move freight safely using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Record shipment counts and conditions to minimize cargo claims.
• Deliver to multiple customers and provide high levels of service within the Oak Harbor network.
• Maintain documentation such as delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, and hazmat specifics.
• Make safe decisions to maximize efficiency while meeting customer expectations.
• Travel to nearby terminals and accommodate different shifts as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for operating equipment and moving freight in a safe and efficient manner using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, etc.
• Responsible for noting and recording exception in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
• Responsible for multiple deliveries to customers while providing high levels of customer service within the Oak Harbor network.
• Maintain required information throughout the use of electronic devices.
• Management of paperwork: i.e., check of accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, counting freight, accuracy of hazardous material shipments, special loading, and handling instructions.
• Responsible decision-making skills to maximize efficiency while maintaining customer expectations.
• Ability to meet the Company's reliability standard for employees; to include dependability.
• Ability to chain as needed and work in inclement weather preferred.
• Availability to work various shifts as needed to accommodate business levels.
• Ability to travel to nearby terminals.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• At least 21 years old
• Class A CDL.
• At least one year of verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment.
• Valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Must have a clean driving record. No DUI, reckless driving, or positive drug/alcohol screen in the last 3 years.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and dispatch/managers.
• Basic English proficiency in reading, writing and verbal communication.

Preferred but not required:

• Hazmat, Tanker, and Double/Triples endorsements, we require within 45 days of hiring
• Doubles/triples & chaining experience is preferred but not required.
• Medical, dental, vision – You choose which plan suits you and our family.
• Employee pays up to 2% of gross income.
• Employee and Family pays up to 4% of gross income.
• 401K match of 100% on the first 5% contribution.
• Accrue 80 hours of PTO within the first 11 months.
