Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Class A CDL driver in Springfield, MO to safely operate heavy trucks for delivery and waste removal, ensuring compliance with safety standards and daily vehicle condition reports.

You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, read route sheets, service customers along designated routes, and perform minor repairs to containers, while maintaining punctual, professional interactions with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections per company policy.
• Safely operate heavy trucks along routes and service customers as directed.
• Read route sheets, follow maps, and adhere to dispatcher instructions.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues daily.
• Perform minor container repairs on-site or in yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag appropriately.
• Maintain vehicle readiness to minimize downtime and safe operation.
• Complete route productivity reports and required vehicle condition reports.
• Adhere to safety policies and company SOPs.
• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for container repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluids, safety equipment, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along designated routes and service each customer as identified or as assigned by dispatcher.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, and dispose of material at the designated facility in a safe manner.
• Interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and others daily to ensure timely service.
• Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in the container yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers as required.
• Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure safety standards are met.
• Maintain vehicle condition and cleanliness to minimize downtime.
• Complete required route productivity sheets and VCRs as instructed.
• Follow all safety policies and participate in the ReSOP program.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
