Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines seeks a qualified CDL A driver to operate tractor-trailer equipment safely and in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Responsibilities include pre-trip/post-trip inspections, maintaining regulatory records, and transporting freight with attention to safety standards.

The role requires HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements and the ability to work flexible schedules, including potential over-the-road runs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• 21 years or older per FMCSA regulations (1 year driving experience)
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center/work assignment
• HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required
• Able to drive a tractor trailer per FMCSA requirements
• Stable employment history preferred
• Able to operate a forklift (7500 lb)
• Able to push/pull loaded pallet jack or hand truck (~70 lbs)
• Physical ability to lift ~70 lbs and perform demanding driving tasks
• Must meet FMCSA requirements to speak and read English
• Able to work in diverse driving conditions and terrains
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor/trailer safely and in compliance with laws and FMCSA regulations
• Maintain records as required by regulations
• Comply with hazardous materials transportation requirements
• Inspect vehicle pre-trip and post-trip and report maintenance issues
• Use in-cab technology as needed
• Load/unload freight at dock per business needs
• Attend to safety and operational duties as required
• Report discrepancies in paperwork and unit numbers
• Work independently or with a team under time constraints
