Job summary

Livingston Parish School District is seeking a Local Area Network (LAN) Manager to supervise the district's LAN infrastructure from the Central Office Technology Department. The role emphasizes onsite support and proactive network maintenance to ensure reliable services for schools and offices.

The candidate will collaborate with site tech coordinators, educate staff on best practices, and coordinate with level two technicians to maintain health and performance aligned with district goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in computer repair and maintenance.
• Desired certifications: A+, CAN (Certified Novell Associate); MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support and troubleshoot LAN issues.
• Collaborate with site tech coordinators to resolve issues.
• Educate and advise site-based staff on LAN health and best practices.
• Coordinate with level 2 technicians and report LAN health to the Director.
• Support district goals through proactive LAN health monitoring.

Job description

Position: Local Area Network (LAN) Manager

Location: Central Office Technology Department

Criteria: Minimum three (3) years' experience in computer repair and maintenance.

• Desired certifications: A+, CAN (Certified Novel Associate); MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent work experience (will work to obtain missing industry certifications during first two (2) years.)

Duties: Duties include onsite support and troubleshooting of local area network issues, collaboration with site tech coordinators on ways to resolve issues and facilitate objectives, advise and educate site-based staff, and maintain record of the health of individual LAN (Local Area technology Network) sites. Duties also include, coordination with level two tech staff on detailed issues and providing the Director with pertinent information to maintain the health of the LANs while supporting district goals.
