Job summary

Yoakum Bank is seeking a Lending Assistant for the Ganado branch to coordinate the loan process from application through closing. You will manage workflow, track items, and collaborate with internal and external parties to keep loans moving forward.

The role requires strong organizational, follow-up, and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining compliance and customer service standards. Prior lending experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• 1–3 years of banking or financial services experience preferred.
• Prior experience in commercial lending, loan operations, or loan documentation is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned loan files and monitor progress.
• Follow up with lenders, customers, appraisers, title companies, attorneys, and others to obtain required information.
• Anticipate missing information before delays.
• Understand documentation and approval requirements for various loan types.
• Communicate outstanding conditions, requirements, and deadlines clearly.
• Determine items critical to approval, closing, or funding.
• Escalate concerns or delays promptly.
• Maintain pipeline reports and provide status updates.
• Demonstrate urgency and accountability to move files toward closing.
• Partner with lenders to organize and coordinate daily lending activities.
