Job summary

Straits Area Fed Credit Union is seeking a Loan Assistant to provide excellent service while performing a variety of loan processing tasks. Responsibilities include managing titles, processing ACHs and AFTs, tracking and verifying payments, and assisting members with loan inquiries. Successful candidates will enjoy competitive pay, opportunities for growth, and community involvement as part of a supportive team environment. Comprehensive training for relevant certifications will be offered post-hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in processing ACHs and AFTs is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to manage various types of loan payments.

Summary

Perform duties in a timely, and accurate manner while providing great member service. Duties include but are not limited to, processing ACHs and AFTs, managing titles, filing and maintaining GAP claims, creating termination statements, and running various reports.

Duties of a loan assistant

• Title tracking
• Processing checks and balance bills with general ledger accounts
• Work with insurance companies on total losses and provide 10 day payoffs and any other required documentation.
• Create and mail monthly letters to members regarding their insurance
• Take over the phone payments
• Answer loan phone line, check voicemails and send messages to the appropriate staff to resolve member issues
• Provide back up support for our Visa department
• Printing, processing and maintaining various loan department reports
• Verify and process multiple different types of loan payments

Certifications

Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance as well as Financial Counseling. These are not required to have before hiring and will be provided to you through the Credit Union.
