LoadUp Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to join our backend team onsite in Alpharetta, GA, helping build the next generation of our cloud-native platform with resilient microservices powering customer and internal apps.

You'll design RESTful APIs with Java/Spring Boot, implement tests with TDD, and deploy via GitHub Actions on Kubernetes and AWS. Strong ownership, collaboration, and the ability to use AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven production microservices experience with Java/Spring Boot.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservice architectures.
• ORM tools with JPA/Hibernate for data modeling.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills and DB design/optimization.
• Containerization with Docker; deployment to Kubernetes/EKS.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions and automated testing practices.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our backend engineering team onsite in Alpharetta, Georgia and help build the next generation of LoadUp's cloud-native platform. This role focuses on designing and delivering resilient, maintainable microservices that power customer-facing and internal applications.

You will work closely with Product, QA, and Operations to ship well-tested, production-ready systems that scale. The successful candidate will combine strong engineering fundamentals with hands‑on experience using modern development tools, including AI‑assisted workflows, to increase throughput while maintaining high quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

Backend Engineering & Microservices

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot, or comparable enterprise frameworks.

• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code with a strong emphasis on Test Driven Development (TDD).

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservice‑based architectures.

• Work with Product Managers and Designers to translate requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.

• Deliver production‑ready software on schedule while maintaining quality and reliability.

CI/CD, Cloud & Infrastructure

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Automate software build, test, and deployment processes.

• Containerize services using Docker.

• Deploy and operate services using Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.

• Support observability, autoscaling, and reliability across production services.

Testing, Security & Reliability

• Collaborate with QA to maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and contract testing coverage.

• Implement security best practices across services, including authentication, authorization, and secret management.

• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.

• Drive continuous improvements in system performance, reliability, and operability.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of equivalent professional software engineering experience.

• Proven experience building production microservices using Java, Spring Boot, or similar enterprise frameworks.

• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservice‑based architectures.

• Experience with ORM tools for data modeling and database interactions, including JPA, Hibernate, or similar technologies.

• Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.

• Experience with relational database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations.

• Practical experience containerizing applications using Docker.

• Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or similar environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions and automated testing practices.

• Demonstrated experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools to accelerate high‑quality software delivery.
