Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a capable manufacturing associate in Anchorage, AK. The role covers safety adherence, loading and packaging parts, forklift operation, and contributing to continuous improvement.

You will participate in inventory, scanning, and quality inspections while following schedules and team directions. The position requires at least 1 year in manufacturing, a high school diploma or GED, and flexibility for overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver License required.
• At least 1 year of related manufacturing experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Forklift experience a plus; forklift training available.
• Crane experience a plus; crane training available.
• Flexible with overtime and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repeatedly.
• Work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Decides when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required.
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• Utilizes scanning equipment.
• Inspects work visually for defects according to Quality Systems.
• Provides cost-saving suggestions to improve productivity and eliminate waste.
• Willing/able to work overtime.
• Reads, writes, and follows posted schedules.
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay rate is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

1st Shift Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM , hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Employs a range of crating and packaging resources, including metal bands and protective coverings, to ensure parts are securely fastened and safeguarded during transport.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Responsible for each lift, deciding when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• Utilize scanning equipment
• Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
• Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Willing/able to work overtime
• Ability read, write, and follow posted schedules
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Driver License
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
• Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
