Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Loader Operator for our Richmond, VA plant. You’ll run front-end loaders and other heavy equipment to move sand, gravel and cement, load trucks, and coordinate with the production team to keep the plant flowing.

No formal experience required—training is provided. A valid driver’s license, safety mindset, and ability to work outdoors in all weather are needed. The role offers steady hours, overtime opportunities, and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience operating loaders or large equipment preferred, willing to learn.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Commitment to safety and willingness to speak up.
• Team player with reliable attendance.
• Able to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders and other heavy equipment to move sand, gravel and cement to keep the plant flowing.
• Load and unload trucks, hoppers, bins and conveyors.
• Work with crew to keep production on schedule.
• Inspect equipment before and after shifts and report repairs.
• Follow safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Keep work area clean and organized to maintain safety.
• Assist with inventory counts to prevent stockouts.
• Share ideas with plant leaders to improve operations.
• Help teammates as needed on various tasks.
