Job summary

Western Rock Products, a CRH Company, seeks an experienced equipment operator to safely and efficiently operate loaders, backhoes, track hoes, haul trucks, and related machinery. You will ensure safe slopes, locate utilities before digging, and perform basic maintenance while keeping accurate records.

The role requires prior heavy equipment experience, the ability to follow simple instructions, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and decimals.
• Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Locate utilities and buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance; refer major problems to supervisor.
• Keep time and material records.
• Understand aggregate sizes and load weight requirements.
• Travel between sites from interstate highways to rural roads.
• May assist laborer at job sites and assist with pipe laying and road work.
