Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials, is seeking a forklift loader/unloader to support yard and job-site operations. You will load and unload materials, assemble loads, and prepare shipments while ensuring accuracy and safety on every delivery, under supervision.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and the ability to read work orders and labels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED typically required.
• Forklift operator certification preferred or required.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and labels.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Performs load-building, determining weight, composition and placement for balanced and safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to determine materials to be moved or loaded.
• Conveys materials to or from storage using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift or other device.
• Opens containers and loads using basic hand tools and labels items for identification.
• Follows safety procedures and attends safety meetings to prevent injuries.
