Job summary

Hayward Lumber is seeking a Load Builder/Forklift Operator in Pacific Grove, CA to assemble and prepare outgoing loads for delivery. You will read and interpret order tickets, select materials, and operate forklifts to load trucks safely, ensuring accuracy and secure handling.

Maintain clean work areas and follow safety procedures. The role requires prior warehouse and forklift experience, ability to lift 75–100 pounds, and a team‑oriented, detail‑driven approach.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to read and interpret orders and invoices.
• Strong teamwork and communication with coworkers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to build outgoing lumber and building-material orders.
• Load or unload completed orders onto delivery equipment using safe procedures.
• Double-check orders for accuracy and securely stack loads for delivery.
• Follow company safety procedures and forklift operator manual.
• Keep work areas stocked and organized for efficient load building.
• Notify management of delays or discrepancies and provide good customer service.
