Hayward Lumber is seeking a Load Builder/Forklift Operator to assemble and prepare outgoing loads for delivery in Santa Barbara, CA. You will read tickets, select materials, operate a forklift, and ensure loads are secure and balanced for transport.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Keep all areas stocked and neat to facilitate efficient load building.
• Inform management of delays or discrepancies.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for assembling and preparing outgoing loads of materials for delivery, ensuring they are accurate, secure, and ready for transport. Key duties include reading and interpreting order tickets, selecting and staging the appropriate materials, operating forklifts and other equipment to load trucks safely, and double-checking orders for accuracy. The load builder also ensures that loads are balanced and comply with safety standards to prevent damage during transit.
