Hayward Lumber is seeking a Load Builder/Forklift Operator to assemble and prepare outgoing loads for delivery in Santa Barbara, CA. You will read tickets, select materials, operate a forklift, and ensure loads are secure and balanced for transport.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse and forklift experience.
• Ability to read and interpret orders and invoices.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
• Experience working in a team atmosphere.
• Ability to lift 75-100 pounds consistently.
• Must pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Use forklift to build outgoing orders for lumber and building materials.
• Load or unload completed orders onto delivery equipment maintaining safe procedures.
• Double-check all loads for accuracy and ensure loads are secured for delivery.
• Follow safety procedures per company program and operator manual for forklift.
• Keep all areas stocked and neat to facilitate efficient load building.
• Inform management of delays or discrepancies.
• Provide excellent customer service to customers and coworkers.
