LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced LOA & Workers’ Compensation Specialist to join our San Diego team in Kearny Mesa. You will manage leave of absence and workers’ compensation processes, ensuring compliance with federal and California laws while handling sensitive employee information.

The role collaborates with employees, managers, HR leadership, and insurance carriers; onsite position with 2+ years’ experience required; compensation is hourly, DOE.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience managing LOA and/or workers’ compensation.
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and California employment regulations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full leave of absence process, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other applicable leaves.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims from initial reporting through return to work.
• Communicate with employees, managers, medical providers, and insurance carriers regarding leave and claims.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.
• Track leave timelines, medical certifications, restrictions, and return-to-work dates.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave and workers’ compensation regulations.
• Partner with HR leadership on accommodations, modified duty, and employee relations matters.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate records related to leave and workers’ compensation cases.

This role will be responsible for managing leave of absence and workers’ compensation processes while ensuring compliance with federal and California employment laws. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling sensitive employee information while working closely with employees, managers, insurance carriers, and HR leadership.
