Job summary

TC Energy in Chesapeake, VA is expanding its LNG facility team to support safety, operation and maintenance. The LNG Plant Operator will manipulate valves, operate compressors, read gauges, and assist in maintenance under supervision from the Area Operations Manager.

The role requires a self-starter with strong problem solving, communication, and decision-making skills, and involves a 12-hour rotating shift schedule across various plant systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Thorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures.
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related software.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Forklift and manlift experience.
• Train for the duties of Controller and perform such duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate processing equipment, including compressors, pumps, valves, and controls.
• Record instrument readings and prepare reports on operating equipment.
• Inspect and maintain equipment oil and water levels; monitor temperature, pressure, and flow.
• Test and maintain chemicals for the evaporative cooling system.
• Perform or assist in plant outages and general repair and maintenance of plant equipment.
