Job summary

TC Energy Corp. is expanding its Virginia South LNG facility in Chesapeake and seeks an LNG Plant Operator. You will manipulate valves, operate pumps and equipment, read gauges, and support maintenance under supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, problem solving, and prompt decision-making. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and hands-on mechanical/electrical aptitude, plus experience with SCADA/DCS, CMMS/SAP, and lifting equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• SWA and safe work practices.
• Lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and related software.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and PFDs.
• Knowledge and experience with hand tools and basic mechanical equipment.
• Forklift and manlift experience.
• Train for the duties of Controller and perform such duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate processing equipment and start/stop in proper sequence under Controller guidance.
• Record instrument readings and prepare equipment reports.
• Inspect and maintain oil, water levels, and monitor temperature, pressure and flow.
• Calibrate and test gauges; monitor safety systems and chemistry.
• Perform or assist in plant outages, rebuilds and repairs of plant equipment.
• Operate and maintain high voltage MCCs and read P&IDs.
