Job summary

Goodwill Greater New York and Northern New Jersey (GWNYNJ) seeks a Senior Director of Workforce and Community Engagement to lead employment, recovery, peer leadership, and systems transformation initiatives across multiple City-funded programs.

This role guides strategy, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners with employers, government agencies and community stakeholders to expand equitable, person-centered workforce innovation. Supervises program directors and multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; licensure or advanced certification preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of leadership in behavioral health or workforce development.
• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience managing managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with multiple programs/contracts and government funding.
• Experience building partnerships with employers and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for employment, recovery, peer leadership, and workforce innovation.
• Lead program portfolios to achieve contractual outcomes, quality standards, and financial performance; recruit, develop, coach, and retain teams.
• Report impact to senior leadership and collaborate on cross-divisional initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with mental health providers, employers, funders, and government agencies.
• Champion equity-centered program innovation and peer leadership across services.
• Monitor program metrics and drive continuous quality improvement.
• Prepare reports for funders and stakeholders.

Education

Master's degree in Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, or related field
