Job summary

Volunteers of America - Greater New York, Inc. in the Bronx, NY is seeking a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW) to provide clinical support within the Career Access Program.

The clinician will conduct individual and group counseling, address mental health concerns for participants with disabilities, and collaborate with a rehabilitation team to promote successful vocational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or mental health counseling required.
• Current licensure as LMHC or LMSW.
• At least 2 years of clinical counseling experience; preference for rehab or disability experience.

Responsibilities

We seek a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Social Worker to provide clinical support to individuals enrolled in our Career Access Program. The Clinician will play a critical role in supporting participants' emotional well-being, addressing mental health concerns, and ensuring their success in the program. The ideal candidate will have experience in counseling, mental health support, and working with individuals with disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or Mental Health Counseling,
• Currently licensed (LMHC or LMSW).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing clinical counseling services, with a preference for experience in vocational rehabilitation or working with individuals with disabilities.

Social Worker LMSW Principal Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to clients in the Career Access Program.
• Assess and address mental health concerns that may impact the client's ability to engage in vocational training and rehabilitation.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to support clients preferred.
• Work closely with the certified rehabilitation counselor, economic empowerment specialists, and other program staff to ensure holistic client support.
