The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) seeks a Historical Interpreter I to conduct interpretive programs, guided tours and living history demonstrations at Fort Fisher State Historic Site, NC. You will greet visitors and assist with artifact handling and site maintenance.

The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday 8:30am–5:00pm with some evenings, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. You may coordinate school group tours and support a docent program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience with museum tours or similar.
• Experience giving tours in a museum or historic site setting is preferred.
• Living history interpretation or historic trades experience is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate school group tours and general tours.
• Conduct visitor services including guided tours and living history demonstrations.
• Assist with event planning, logistics, promotion and rentals.
• Research topics for educational programs and exhibits.
• Perform clerical duties, operate gift shop and help with site maintenance.
