Job summary

Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) — Fort Fisher State Historic Site in North Carolina is seeking a Historical Interpreter I to deliver interpretive programs, living history demonstrations, and tours. You will greet visitors, coordinate a docent program, and support site maintenance and exhibit research.

The role involves occasional night/weekend events, a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, and requires a high school diploma with two years of museum tour experience.

Qualifications

• High school or GED diploma.
• Two years of experience in giving museum tours.
• Experience with living history interpretation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate school group tours and general tours.
• Provide visitor services including guided tours and living history demonstrations.
• Assist with event planning, logistics, promotion and rentals.
• Conduct research for educational programs and exhibits.
• Operate gift shop and assist with site maintenance.
