Job summary

State of North Carolina - Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician I at Fort Fisher State Historic Site in Kure Beach to maintain historic buildings, grounds, and equipment. You will perform a range of repairs, safe operations of tools, and support site programs.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, basic maintenance knowledge, and ability to operate common tools. Sign-on bonus of $1,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and building repair.
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools, and equipment used in grounds maintenance.
• Ability to operate common shop or woodworking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintenance, and cleaning of historic buildings and grounds.
• Operate lawn maintenance equipment and vehicles.
• Perform masonry, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, painting, and safety system work.
• Assist with safety and administrative reports; occasional after-hours and weekend work.
