Job summary

University of California, Davis is seeking a Staff Veterinarian to provide high‑quality veterinary care to cattle, sheep, goats and pigs within the VMTH Livestock Medicine and Surgery Service. You will also contribute to teaching veterinary students and residents through clinics and lab activities, as well as outreach to producers and practitioners.

The role emphasizes clinical service (90%) with teaching responsibilities (10%), and is based in Davis, CA with a 100% on‑site schedule and

Qualifications

• Current CA veterinary license, and in good standing with the CA Veterinary Medical Board.
• Board certification or residency-trained in large animal internal medicine, with a livestock emphasis.
• DVM or equivalent degree.
• Clinical experience and competence in livestock medicine and surgery.
• Experience in teaching (particularly clinical instruction), providing oversight of professional students, residents and technicians in all aspects of livestock medicine and surgery.
• Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Skills to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
