Job summary

UC Davis Livestock Herd Health and Reproduction Technician supports herd health and reproductive programs within the VMTH. You will coordinate clinical operations, maintain medical records, and assist with specialized reproductive services, contributing to patient care, teaching and research while promoting animal welfare and biosecurity.

Position emphasizes collaboration with faculty, residents and staff, with expectations for field and hospital work, strong organizational skills, and adherence

Qualifications

• Experience with livestock handling, behavior and basic physiology; ability to manage herd health tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, faculty, residents and students, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience administering vaccines and medications (PO, IV, SQ, IM).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for herd health and reproductive programs.
• Maintain medical and reproductive records and assist with data entry.
• Coordinate clinical operations and enforcement of established protocols.
• Support infection control and sanitation practices in hospital and field settings.
