Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning livestock.
  • Maintaining accurate inventories and headcounts.
  • Performing light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with livestock.
  • Moving hogs safely and effectively with minimal stress to the animals, following all humane handling guidelines.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • All Tyson Team Members are responsible for personal and food safety.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience:
    1. 1 year of prior experience handling and working with livestock in loading/unloading operations preferred.
    2. Experience with skid loaders operation preferred.
    3. Experience in livestock handling within the meat industry and knowledge of humane animal handling procedures preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge preferred.
  • Communication Skills:
    1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    2. Ability to communicate in stressful situations with all levels (hourly employees to upper management) and government officials.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift 70+ pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8–10 hours, excluding breaks).
SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Strong observation skills and conscientiousness about animal treatment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work extended hours as required by management.
