Job Summary

Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician Lead, will assist the FSQA Leadership in supervising shift inspectors and ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Specification Adherence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the activities of the FSQA Technicians and directly addressing issues with the appropriate members of supervision.
  • Ensuring safety in all aspects, including personal safety and food safety.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.

Pay: $29.30/hr Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Friday 7am-4pm), 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday 4pm-2am). May require weekends and overtime as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement Daily Plans: Receive and break down the overall plans for each day's activities from FSQA Leadership into detailed work assignments for the FSQA Technicians.
  • Participate in Daily Work Assignments: Accommodate vacations, days off, or other absences.
  • Monitor Progress: Follow up on the progress of all FSQA Technicians and production activities during the shift, providing necessary input to ensure FSQA objectives are met.
  • Shift Briefings: Meet with FSQA Technicians at the beginning of the shift to brief them on their specific work assignments, the production schedule, and areas needing extra attention.
  • Training and Development: Responsible for the training and proficiency development of all FSQA Technicians.
  • Review Records: Ensure daily FSQA records are accurate, complete, and conform to established requirements.
  • Investigate Issues: Address all nonconformance issues identified during the shift, ensuring non-conforming products are properly isolated, identified, and placed on Hold. Identify and address the cause of the problem.
  • Report to FSQA Leadership: Inform FSQA Leadership of all Quality & Food Safety issues identified during the shift in a timely manner.
  • Inspect Products: Determine compliance with order specifications, quality control systems, legal requirements, and shipping and packing standards.
  • Adhere to Regulations: Perform all duties in accordance with USDA, company policy, and established procedures.
Working Conditions
  • Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
  • Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
  • Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses (where required), hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
  • Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.
Requirements

Education: High School diploma or GED.

Experience: At least 1 year of Food Safety Quality Assurance experience.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce.
  • Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Math and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
  • Must function well under stress.
  • Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Must be able to work in wet environment
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
