Job summary

Tyson Foods in Mississippi seeks a vaccine operations worker to drive a company vehicle, spray vaccine on live chickens, and manage data and samples for delivery. The role requires lifting 75+ lbs, maintaining equipment, and working with management to ensure safety and biosecurity standards.

Must have a valid MS driver’s license, no more than two moving violations, and reside within 30 miles of the facility. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; non-DOT driver experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Operator experience with one employer in prior 12 months is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate with managers and team members in spoken and written form.
  • Physical stamina to carry 75+ lb vaccine backpack and work in varying conditions.

Work hours Monday through Friday; 7 am to 5 pm with flexibility; 40 to 45 hours a week; $17.30/ hour; minimal weekend and holiday work required; weekly attendance incentive offered

This position will be responsible for driving the company vehicle to grower farms to spray vaccine on live chickens. Record and maintain all required data as directed. Mix vaccine, load supplies for transport, weigh product, pull blood samples and cook fat samples and prepare for delivery. Sanitize vehicle and equipment, perform vehicle inspections, and load and unload trays of product by hand. This position reports to the Broiler Manager.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Must be able to report to work promptly and regularly.
  • 2. Must be able to take directions from management and work well with others.
  • 3. Must be able to concentrate and perform accurately; react to change productively, and handle all other tasks as assigned.
  • 4. Must be willing to lift and handle product up to 10 lbs.
  • 5. Must be willing to lift and carry vaccine backpack in excess of 75 lbs.
  • 6. Must be willing to walk, climb, bend, stoop and work at a fast pace.
  • 7. Must be willing to perform other housekeeping tasks.
  • 8. Must adhere to all Tyson Foods policies to include Animal Welfare and Bio-Security guidelines.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • 1. Must be willing to communicate with managers and Team Members both orally, verbally and in writing as requires.
  • 2. Must have physical ability and endurance to carry vaccine backpack in excess of 75 lbs.
Working Conditions
  • 1. Must be able to work in inclement conditions.
Requirements

Must have 6 months Operator experience with one employer in the previous 12-months. Non-DOT driver experience preferred. High school degree or equivalent.

Must Have

Valid MS Driver's license with no more than two moving violations to include no DUIT and DWI convictions ever to obtain and maintain Tyson Operator's Permit; Biosecurity requirements must be met. Selected candidate must live in a 30-mile radius from facility.

Rehire Criteria
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
  • Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
