Job summary

Sight & Sound is seeking a Show Automation Technician to support technical elements during show runs and perform repairs on department equipment. You will operate automation consoles, manage cues, and assist with programming and maintenance of show systems to ensure a safe, high-quality performance.

The role requires troubleshooting electronics and live production experience, with flexible hours including rehearsals and changeovers.

Qualifications

Associate degree with 1–2 years electronics troubleshooting experience preferred.
Live production experience preferred.
Flexible hours required; availability for shows and rehearsals.
Knowledge of programming and operation of video media servers.
Basic knowledge of electronic and electrical systems.
Hardware, software, and network computer skills.

Responsibilities

Provide repairs to lighting, projection, special effects, and communications during performances and rehearsals.
Operate automation consoles and run show cues with calm, professional demeanor.
Maintain rigging and lifting equipment, and support cue execution across show elements.
Create and maintain detailed cue sheets and start-up/shutdown checklists.
Communicate show element status with Stage Management and other departments during performances.
Assist in keeping show quality and operations by timely troubleshooting and support.
