Job summary

Sight & Sound in Ronks, PA seeks a Show Automation Technician to support technical elements during performances and rehearsals. You will repair automation systems, operate control consoles, and ensure cues are executed safely and on time.

Eligible candidates should have strong electronics knowledge, hands-on experience with lighting/projection/FX systems, and familiarity with video servers. Flexible hours and team collaboration are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of electronic and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of hardware, software, and network computer skills.
• Advanced electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills for lighting, projection, special effects and communications equipment.
• Knowledge and experience in live stage and production.
• Knowledge of programming and operation of video media servers.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including shows and rehearsals.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to Show Operations departments through clear and timely communication related to technical production elements.
• Provide immediate and expedient repairs to lighting, projection, special effects, and communications equipment during performances, rehearsals, and other times as needed.
• Maintain proper care and operation of automation consoles, software, and equipment during show times.
• Operate all flight, vehicle, and effect cues from the automation consoles and execute cues during shows and rehearsals.
• Maintain knowledge of rigging equipment and safety protocols used in shows.
• Assist in creating and maintaining cue sheets and start-up/shutdown checklists.
• Communicate show element status with A&E, Media/Art, Deck Chief, and Stage Management during shows.
• Effectively communicate and execute cues with headset protocols and professional demeanor.
• Provide emergency show support for absent Lighting/Deck Technicians as needed.
